Role Overview

The Accounting Assistant – Accounts Payable/Receivable will have a wide range of responsibilities critical to InterConnecta’s operations. This role will lead the day-to-day accounting functions and help shape the department and organizational processes as InterConnecta continues to grow and change significantly in the years to come.

An ideal candidate will work independently, but will also understand the value of teamwork, and loves to live between delivering projects and managing high-trust relationships.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Helps lead the daily operations of the Accounting Department, supporting the business cycles of sales, purchases, and financial reporting.
  • Ensures compliance with the company’s various sources of revenue, including license revenue, sales, and professional services. This through the registration and issuance of accounting documents (invoices, credit notes, etc.).
  • Coordinates and controls accounts receivable in order to obtain sales recovery.
  • Manages payment to suppliers and keep accounts payable up to date.
  • Analyzes and reconcile banking operations.
  • Assists in biweekly payroll processing.
  • Analyze tax accounts.
  • Ensures the application of deductions and withholdings.
  • Leads the monthly closing process and reviews the monthly financial results.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assists in the global consolidation of accounting comprised of our three main regions (United States, Puerto Rico, and Perú).
  • Helps with the preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Assists with any technical accounting issues that may arise on an ongoing basis, documenting accounting considerations and conclusions to support accounting treatments or solutions.


Basic Qualifications

  • English language proficiency.
  • Experience with Quickbooks or Zoho Books (preferred).
  • Focus on correct classifications for the United States, Puerto Rico, and Perú.
  • Professional with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Administration, or similar.
  • CPA license required (preferred).
  • 2-3 years of accounting/finance experience required.
  • Public accounting experience preferred (Controller positions preferred).
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Strong Excel/spreadsheets skills are required with a proven ability to work on large and complex data sets.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and concepts.
  • Ability to complete work in a well-organized and self-directed manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think critically.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the web development industry.
  • Experience in using Zoho applications (mostly in Zoho Books).
  • Previous experience in professional services (including billable hours, etc.)
